Wednesday, May 11, 3 p.m. ET, Amber Liu and Justin Park will talk about their K-Pop careers for the upcoming ASCAP Experience panel in honor of AAPI Heritage Month.

Both Liu and Park hail from Los Angeles, but their musical careers have bridged Asian and American cultures from the start. As a member of beloved electropop group f(x), Liu (a Taiwanese-American) is certified K-pop royalty; Since going solo in 2015, she has expanded her international reach by releasing music in Korean, English, and Mandarin. Park, a Korean-American, is a rising singer-songwriter with an adoring fanbase (including BTS’s Jungkook) who is now making a name for himself in the United States and Korea with his brand of soulful pop/ R&B.

In this fascinating IG Live, the two friends and collaborators will explore what it means to be an AAPI music creator on the world stage. They will talk about how their identities have shaped their music and reveal the joys and challenges of finding audiences on both sides of the Pacific.

You can also listen to the special AAPI from ASCAP playlist and check out social media @ascap for exclusive videos of ASCAP members talking about their AAPI heritage and creativity.
