Roll around Jersey City

No Forks Given debuted in Jersey City in 2017. Since then, it’s made its way around the city, settling anywhere and everywhere. From all along Hudson Street — Grand, Sussex and Montgomery streets — to various parks and apartment complexes such as Lincoln Park, The Beacon and Paulus Hook ferry terminal.

Owner Wyatt Harte says the Hoboken Girl, “We are very excited. We have been waiting and wanting to do this for a while. We know there will be challenges ahead. prices, price spikes in goods, products, to a difficult market to find reliable staff members but it is our dream. We’re excited to provide great comfort food with a twist and hope our community will continue to support us.

Wyatt, who has been in the culinary industry for more than a decade, adds that the goal was to “always have a showcase.” He continued, “We wanted a main hub or home where we can do more with the menu and experiment with flavors. Ultimately, we would like to expand further when the time is right.

About the menu

No Forks Given has gained popularity for creating pocket-sized gourmet creations. The menu consists of a variety of chicken sandwiches including Korean Fried Chicken, BBQ Fried Chicken, Southern Buttermilk Fried Chicken, Peruvian Fried Chicken, and Buffalo Fried Chicken.

There are also cheesesteak sandwiches, available in regular, Korean BBQ, and Buffalo versions, as well as carnitas grilled cheese sandwiches and artichoke grilled cheese sandwiches. Tacos available to order are Cheesesteak Tacos, Korean BBQ Tacos, and Korean Fried Chicken Tacos. The sides include onion rings and loaded curly fries.

Regarding the fast food menu, the owner said, “We will keep most of the menu that is currently in the truck, as well as new ideas that we are currently working on.”

With the convenience of the food truck where residents can easily walk in or place an order in advance over the phone, Wyatt says the concept will remain the same with the storefront. “The plan is for it to be more of a grab & go,” he shares. “It’s too small to make seats.”

on the horizon

The new house of No Forks Given will open this fall. Wyatt hopes “sooner than later”. “It all depends on permits, construction schedule, etc. We hope to open the doors by the fall of 2022. More information to come, once we know more,” he says.

When it opens, the food truck will still be there, but Wyatt thinks that might change in the future. The goal is to serve as many people in the community as possible.

“It’s the people and the diversity of the city,” says Wyatt H.G. to please the community. “We love seeing this diversity in our customers and love getting to know them on a personal level where they become friends. We are grateful for their continued love and support over the past five years.
