Park told reporters at Seoul’s Gimpo International Airport on Wednesday upon his return from Japan that he hoped to meet Hayashi during a series of meetings of foreign ministers related to the Association of Nations. from Southeast Asia to Cambodia in August.

Meanwhile, Park said that during a meeting with Hayashi in Tokyo on Monday, he asked the Japanese side to take sincere action based on a correct understanding of history on the issue of Koreans being conscripted to work for Japanese companies during World War II while citing the need for South Korea to make efforts to resolve the issue.
Park also said he told Japan’s foreign minister that Japan’s stricter export controls against South Korea were detrimental to both countries and that the measure should be lifted to help them respond effectively to changes in supply chains. international supply.
