A group that already owns Korean restaurants in Colombia and Charlotte is set to open a new site in the capital in 2022.

The company that operates Columbia’s 929 Kitchen & Bar on Gervais Street and also owns the MOA Korean BBQ & Bar in Charlotte, is planning another restaurant in Columbia.

The next restaurant was announced on December 23 on 929 Kitchen’s Facebook and Instagram pages. The new restaurant “will take a similar concept from MOA Korean BBQ & Bar” in Charlotte, according to the articles. The address for Columbia’s new location was not disclosed, but 929 Kitchen said in social media responses that it could be released in the coming weeks.

Some details of the upcoming restaurant were shared, including that it will have 6,500 square feet of space and up to 265 seats. The company claims that it will have “the same top-notch quality of meat as MOA” and that it will have a cafe and bakery in store.

The existing 929 kitchen and Korean MOA barbecue will continue to operate in their current locations, the company said.

Since opening in 2018, 929 Kitchen & Bar has proven to be a popular destination in the Vista nightlife and entertainment district of Columbia, specializing in authentic Korean offerings with a modern twist.
